We are an organization representing all citizens of Okanogan County who subscribe to the principles and the aims of the Democratic Parties of Washington State and the United States of America. We run an effective grassroots party organization that can win local elections and maximize the Democratic vote in all elections.
We currently meet monthly via Zoom. All are welcome at our meetings.
Fire Relief for Nespelem - How you can help
We are reaching out to share some of what we know about the devastating Kaiser Canyon wildfire that is burning all around Nespelem. The fire is over 60,000 acres and growing with 0% containment. All of Nespelem and the Colville Agency (seat of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation government) have been evacuated, and the fire has destroyed many homes. Many of us want to help and I am writing to let you know some of the ways that you can support our neighbors to the east.
Right now people need the basics - food, gas, shelter and other basic needs. We can help facilitate this through a couple of ways:
1) Donate directly to two organizations that we are coordinating with and that we will support as donations come in:
Faith Zacherle and the River Warrior Society (a 501c3 non profit) (see poster below).

2) Donate to the Omak Community Center (which is an evacuation and fire relief center).
3) Donate directly to Methow Valley Interpretive Center (please add a note or comment that says "wildfire relief") and we'll get it to our tribal partner organizations who are doing direct relief work.
4) Drop off donations of gas cards, Wal-Mart cards, nonperishable food items and the like on our front porch (210 5th Ave entrance in Twisp) and we'll get that where it needs to go.
**We'll take donations over to Omak or wherever they need to go when it makes sense to do so (daily or weekly depending on the volume of donations).
5) Reach out if you have other ideas for how to help (including hay for livestock) and we can help coordinate that. David's direct phone is 509-919-0686.

Election Observers Needed
Please consider signing up as an Election Observer during this election cycle.
Primary ballots were mailed out July 17th. Election workers will start checking signatures and processing ballots on or about July 23rd at the Auditor's office in Okanogan.
