Election Observers Needed - Please consider volunteering

There are people, including the president, who would like nothing more than to obstruct voting rights and cast doubt on election results. You can help to counter that by volunteering as an election observer.  

For our democracy to work, we all need to pitch in. Each political party has a legal right to observe all phases of the election process. Observers help build public confidence in the honesty of electoral processes and can help promote and protect the civil and political rights of participants in elections.

Primary ballots will be mailed out July 17th. Election workers will start checking signatures and processing ballots on or about July 23rd from 9amuntil 12pm and from 1pm until 4pm at the Auditor's office in Okanogan.  

Observers can sign-up for morning, afternoon or both. Volunteering for a specific date does not guarantee that you will be called in to observe. The need for election workers will vary from day to day depending on the number of ballots received. The auditor usually decides by 8 a.m. whether processing will occur that day and notifies both election workers and observers by telephone.
