  • Don’t worry, the voters on our list are all good Democrats according to VoteBuilder; we are going to Get Out the Vote, not engage in persuasion

  • We want to reach as many voters as possible before the primary.. a nice number of calls (15-20? whatever you can manage) every day at your convenience and we should be good

You will be using a computer and your phone to phone bank. It will be easier to phone bank if you have your computer set up to see the phone bank screen (who you are calling, and what you will say), and then use your phone to make the calls.

You will get a link from your Okanogan Dems organizer, and a code to enter on that first Get Started page.

If you do not have an Action ID, you will need to create one. If you don’t remember your Action ID, click on “Don’t remember your password?” and try to reset, using your email.

If you still cannot get in, email us. We do not have access to Action ID information, but we can help you take next steps.

This is the script:

Hi, My name is _________________ and I am with the Okanogan County Democrats. We're calling to make sure that you know the primary election is on August 4th. Ballots will be mailed around July 17.

We want to make sure you have a plan for voting and to remind you to get your ballot in early to make sure it is counted. We recommend using the ballot drop boxes as they are safe and secure. (If asked where nearest box is, refer to FAQ list.)

If you prefer to mail your ballot, the county auditor recommends mailing it as soon as possible, more than a week before Election Day.

Before you make that first call, practice saying the script out loud a few times.

The script contains information we want to convey to the voters. This includes:

  • the primary is August 4th

  • get your ballot in early

  • ballot drop boxes are safe and secure; we recommend you use them

  • if you prefer to mail your ballot, mail it as soon as possible

  • there is a Voter Guide on our website with our endorsements for John Duresky and other candidates

  • website is okanogandemocrats.org

  • Thank you for voting

You will probably use the script at first, and then get more natural in your language.

In the course of your conversation, find out if they plan to vote, and click on that survey answer.

It is likely you will get a sense of their party affiliation. Please record that as a survey answer.

If you can’t talk with a person but you can leave a message, please do.

We don’t want call backs, so you can say something like:

“Hello, no need to call back, we are calling to let you know the primary is August 4th. This is an important election. Please get your ballots in as soon as you can and use a ballot box if possible. Thank you for voting. I am with the Okanogan Democrats.

If you don’t reach a voter, (even if you leave a message), click the red box under the voter’s name. Choose in the list of reasons why you weren’t able to reach the voter.
