GAYLE CLEMENS - VICE CHAIR

I am a Washington native, and my roots go deep in this part of NCW. My family were members of the Colville tribe that homesteaded on the SanPoil, and my great uncle helped build Grand Coulee Dam. I lived in the Methow Valley from 1975-1989, leaving to attend The Evergreen State College. I pursued environmental and political science studies and acquired my teaching certificate and Master in Teaching.

I was one of the first to organize protests and an action plan in opposition to a proposed ski hill near Mazama, The Methow Valley Citizens Council. I raised three children here and now have grandchildren living in the Methow. I currently reside in the Oroville area. Community is important to me, and helping to educate and empower voters and potential candidates is my mission serving as Vice Chair for the Okanogan County Democrats.

NANCY AADLAND, TREASURER

I was born and raised in Washington State, had a career that took me all over the country, and retired early to live and travel on a sailboat for several years before moving to the Methow Valley in 2018.

A graduate of Western Washington University with degrees in accounting and business administration, I was a Certified Public Accountant and an adjunct college instructor. After earning my Airline Transport Pilot and Flight Instructor ratings, I changed careers and eventually went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration where I retired as Manager of the Air Transportation Oversight Office in Washington DC.

Prior to the 2020 election, I thought that I'd fulfilled my civic duty simply by voting in each election. I now feel an obligation to do everything within my power to help preserve our democracy.

TERRY ROSS, SECRETARY

Originally from Wisconsin, I spent twenty years as an adult in the Pacific Northwest and followed my family to the Methow in 2024.

I worked as a librarian and instructor in the Wisconsin Technical College System for many years, and still work part-time in the nonprofit sector.

Coming from a long line of proud Democrats, politics has been a big part of my life, though not necessarily within the party.

Things have changed.

I look forward to working with all the supporters of democracy, both within this important organization, the Okanogan Democrats, and wherever we find them.

HALLEY HART - STATE COMMITTEE MEMBER

I have lived in Washington State for almost forty years on both sides of the North Cascades. In 2005, my husband, daughter, and I moved to Winthrop, WA, in the Methow Valley from the city of Tacoma. We were seeking a smaller, more cohesive community in which to raise our daughter. Over the years I was employed as a public school teacher and a bereavement coordinator on the west side of the Cascades. I have also been employed as a substitute librarian, a packaging coordinator at a local organic grain farm, and as an employee in the tourism industry. Currently, I work at a small, locally owned business.

My commitment to the Democratic Party began with my parents, specifically my father, who was a lifelong union member. My membership in the Washington State Education Association during my career as an educator taught me the importance of organizing and standing together for working people. Proudly, I can say that our daughter is now learning the value of being part of a union as well.

While I have always voted for the Democratic candidates, I felt at this stage of my life and in this time of history that it is critical to become more engaged locally within our local rural Democratic party. Access to affordable healthcare, the preservation of Social Security/Medicare for seniors, support for our public schools, and common sense approaches to addressing climate change are just some of the issues in which I am interested.

JASON MUSGRAVE - STATE COMMITTEE MEMBER

I spent my early years in Havillah, Tonasket, Oroville (briefly), and my last two years of high school in Omak. I left the Okanogan after graduation and worked for Eastern Airlines as a flight attendant.

When Eastern ceased operations I was free to pursue nursing school in Miami, where I later worked as an ICU nurse. Switching gears again, I took employment on the Forbes Family private yacht, traveling mostly The Great Lakes, eastern US coast, the Caribbean and Canada before returning to Omak permanently in 2016.

Throughout my time away I volunteered to chair a Miami Beach precinct and other voting-related orgs in Florida and New York City. Serving the community is a core value of mine, and contributing to a stronger democracy is an honor.

Working alongside fellow citizens to build a brighter future is a rewarding experience for me. I want to be part of the dedication I see in this local Democrats group, and inspire positive change within our state. Collaboration and open communication are key to achieving shared goals -- and that's how I intend to represent our great community.
