KATIE HAVEN - CHAIR

I live on a small sheep ranch in the lower Methow Valley. I grew up discussing politics around the dinner table, and accompanied my parents to the voting booth as soon as I could walk. My goal in this position is to help citizens stay aware of opportunities to participate in working towards a "more perfect Union". While national politics get the headlines and the glamour, I have learned that it all starts with friends and neighbors getting together to talk about issues. I aim to make it interesting and fun!

HALLEY HART - STATE COMMITTEE MEMBER

I have lived in Washington State for almost 40 years on both sides of the North Cascades. In 2005 my husband, daughter and I moved to Winthrop, WA, in the beautiful Methow Valley from the city of Tacoma. We were seeking a life in a smaller more cohesive community, along with a place to enjoy the outdoors that we love so much.
Over the years I have been employed as an elementary public school teacher for 12 years. I then switched careers to become bereavement coordinator for a health organization. I am currently employed in a small local business.
My commitment to the Democratic party started with my parents, specifically my father who was a lifelong union member. I was in the teacher's union, and now our daughter is also a union member. The tradition continues.
While I have always voter for Democratic candidates in every election I felt at this stage of my life and in this time of history, it is critical to become more engage on a more active level within our local rural Democratic party.

NANCY AADLAND, SECRETARY

I was born and raised in Washington State, had a career that took me all over the country, and retired early to live and travel on a sailboat for several years before moving to the Methow Valley in 2018. A graduate of Western Washington University with degrees in accounting and business administration, I was a Certified Public Accountant and an adjunct college instructor. After earning my Airline Transport Pilot and Flight Instructor ratings, I changed careers and eventually went to work for the Federal Aviation Administration where I retired as Manager of the Air Transportation Oversight Office in Washington DC. Prior to the 2020 election, I thought that I'd fulfilled my civic duty simply by voting in each election. I now feel an obligation to do everything within my power to help preserve our democracy.
