Run for delegate to represent Okanogan County at the 2024 WA State Democratic Convention on June 22nd
Every two years the WA State Democrats hold a convention* made up of delegates from every corner of our state who vote on nominating our leaders, decide on party policy, and create our platform and agenda for the next two years. This is an incredible opportunity to participate at the grass roots level, and we need YOU!
Okanogan County is allowed 5 delegates and 3 alternates and we aim to fill all of these slots. Here are the basics:
- No experience required. The only requirements are that you officially reside in the county, and that you are willing to publicly state that you are a Democrat.
- As a delegate you will get to vote on the party platform, vote on which statewide candidates our party endorses, and elect the national delegates who will represent us at the National Convention in Chicago.
- The WA State Democrats have set up an excellent information page with links to weekly training on how to run for delegate, and a timeline of important dates.
- The deadline for submitting your name as a delegate is March 31st.
*Please note that the June 22nd Convention will be a hybrid format. Delegates can attend either in person OR virtually. The 2024 Convention will be held at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, WA.
